How Zanzibar Bay can help the world and grow its business.

ZB can have a significantly positive impact on the world and grow its business by tackling sustainability issues. This can be achieved by improving our product sustainability and effectively communicating these changes to our lovely clients all over the world. We hope this would increase people’s awareness of sustainability issues, and make the ZB pieces more appealing to our customers. 

ZB’s sustainability focuses on efficient and effective solutions that are better for society and the environment by promoting the following actions:

  • Decrease in carbon footprint - All individual ZB prices are made in our own atelier.

  • Reuse - We reuse fabrics and trims when we can.

  • Recycle - We recycle fabrics and trim when we can.

  • Reduce over-consumption - All of our fabrics are from end of roll or end of runs, thus preventing this going into landfill. In 2018, around 350,000 tonnes of clothing was sent to landfill in the UK alone!!!

Zanzibar Bay is slow fashion. Each beautiful piece is designed to be versatile and kept for many many years.

Anti Slavery

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

Zanzibar Bay has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains. We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards. This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity. All of our suppliers become our ‘family’ friends and we visit them in India when we can. This relationship and friendship which ZB forges with our suppliers gives us the opportunity to assist our friends in their own supply chains to ensure that these are slavery free.

We have the utmost respect for all human dignity and work to protect each individuals freedoms.
